Job Summary

We have a need for an accounting professional with a strong work ethic and a desire to a lead a fast paced, results driven Network Expense accounting team. This position will oversee certain Network Expense accounting processes and manage a team of two accountants, interacting regularly with FP&A, IT, and internal and external auditors.

Job Description

• Overseeing the day to day activities of the department
• Oversee the monthly and quarterly accounting entries and review and signoff on monthly and quarterly reconciliations including Blackline
• Oversee the monthly and quarterly variances analysis
• Oversee reporting of weekly accrual validation to cash disbursements.
• Perform monthly reporting on key controls for expense vs. disbursements and liability reasonableness to payables outstanding.
• Maintain internal control integrity and related SOX documentation and compliance
• Develop presentations for management and stakeholders
• Develop training program for the staff
• Implement process improvements and maintain documentation of all procedures
• Work with FP&A to support forecasting of assigned Network Expense accounts
• Work with the disputes team to ensure proper reporting and accounting
• Maintain and support accounting for expenses in both standard and non-standard billing platforms
• Provide support for quarterly SEC Reporting
• Work with external auditors to explain accounting treatment and assist with their review of company information.
• Provide quarterly “PBC” information timely to external auditors
• Use critical thinking and attention to detail to help ensure assigned accounts are free from misstatement.
• Work on complex issues which require input from multiple sources and innovative problem solving.
• Provide explanations in support of trends or variances for assigned accounts.
• Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
• 7-10 years of experience managing staff
• 8-10 years of accounting experience with medium to large companies and/or large accounting firms.
• Must have the ability to interact with C-level executives, operations and external auditors
• Ability to work in complex environment.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written skills
Preferred
• CPA license preferred
• SAP experience preferred
• Experience in telecommunications or public utilities industries.
Education
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent certification.
